Why silk

Silk is a breathable protein fibre, and it works in two directions. In heat it moves warmth and moisture off your skin, so it never clings on a hot night. In cold, the weave holds a thin layer of warm air close to the body, so it insulates without bulk.

It is the most temperature-regulating fabric we make — and at 22 momme, it is woven heavy enough to last years of it.

How do I know it's real silk?

Composition and momme weight are printed on every product page and label. Momme is silk's honest number — the weight of the weave — and we state it so you can compare like for like.

Is washing silk a project?

No. Cold gentle cycle in a mesh bag — or a quick hand wash — and hang to dry. No dryer, no bleach, no dry cleaner. Silk this weight softens with washing instead of wearing out.
